Easy to Make Halloween Décor
I’ll admit it – I love dollar stores and I definitely have my favorites! They are the perfect source for cheap and easy crafty inspiration! I especially love them during the holidays! There is some really great stuff just waiting to be transformed into fabulous home décor. This year, my very favorite dollar store has some really awesome Halloween items. I picked up a few neat things and started making some cute decorations for our upcoming Halloween shindig, including this dollar store Halloween pumpkin!
Materials:
- Carveable pumpkin (<– affiliate link!)
- Glass candle holder
- Spray paint
- Glitter and glue
- Ribbon
I started by spray painting the pumpkin with a satin black spray paint. Once it was dry, I used a tube of glue to draw swirly designs on the pumpkin, and then applied the iridescent glitter on top. It was dry in a few hours.
While the glitter was drying, I spray painted the candle holder with a matte aluminum paint. I used two light coats and let it thoroughly dry.
When the candle holder was dry, I applied a bead of glue along the top and positioned the pumpkin on it. I held it in place for about 30 seconds to give the glue a bit of time to set.
I found this really cute ribbon at the hobby store (for $1.00) and tied a bow, then glued it on the top of the pumpkin.
Voila! This project cost me a whopping $3.00 and was completed in an afternoon… I have a couple more cool decorations to make and will share pictures later but why not check out this candleholder made with picture frames?
